Griffin Capital Team has engaged in the development of
approximately $4.4 billion of real estate with a specific focus on
the multifamily sector where it has a development portfolio in 32
markets. Position Summary Responsible for overseeing components of
the fund formation and fund launch processes with respect to
Griffin Capital’s real estate investment offerings. As part of this
process, the candidate will interact with external partners in the
wealth channel in preparation and response to investment and
operational diligence related inquiries. as well as work closely
across multiple disciplines within the Griffin Capital organization
including asset and portfolio management, accounting, legal and
compliance, marketing and sales in the preparation of these
materials and responses The candidate should ideally have
experience with all or some of the following; alternative
investments, analysis of real estate investment offerings,
launching an investment offering, fund structuring and capital
formation in the wealth channel. Duties and Responsibilities Due
Diligence Requests/Relations Respond to all due diligence
questionnaires and ensure all other requests from wealth channel
diligence/research teams are addressed in a timely manner and with
a high level of accuracy. Engage/manage third-party research firms
and ensure timely completion and dissemination of their reports on
Griffin investment offerings. Coordinate and be able to lead
diligence focused calls on Griffin investment offerings with
prospective wealth channel partners. Create/compile diligence
support materials to ensure external diligence/research teams
receive all relevant updates and communication. Support the capital
formation efforts for Griffin investment offerings by creating and
maintaining strong relationships with the wealth channel diligence
community and providing them with regular and appropriate
company/Fund updates. Fund Formation and Offering Launch Run
components of the Fund formation and launch process. Assist with
the preparation and timely review of all Fund offering materials.
Provide input on Fund structuring based on competitive analysis,
regulatory changes and best practices. Prepare education on
investment offerings for capital formation team (competitive
analysis, talking points, FAQs). Prepare and manage
intra-department workflows to ensure effective collaboration and
review of all Fund documents. Interact with 3rd party diligence
firms as well as research and diligence personnel of existing and
prospective wealth channel partners to address questions or provide
information as it relates to the company and both closed and open
investment offerings. Department Communications Assist with
preparation/review of external communication/reports and internal
education/resources. Manage the preparation, updates and accuracy
of certain external reports/modules regarding Griffin Capital and
our Funds. Requirements Qualifications and Skills Requirements
Relevant Work Experience – 5 years of relevant experience and/or
training in the investment management industry; with three (3)
years of direct experience in private real estate or alternative
investment due diligence, fund formation and offering launches.
Certifications - CFA or CAIA charterholder, preferred but not
required. Education - Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year
college or university in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate or
related field; or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Industry Knowledge - Strong knowledge of the Financial
Services Industry and alternative investment strategies. Experience
analyzing investment offerings, fund formation documents,
performing competitive analysis, preparing presentations, and
responding to inquiries related to investment offerings from 3rd
party research and diligence teams. Understanding of alternative
investment offering terms and concepts and general understanding of
basic finance concepts such as valuation process, expense
constructs and a variety of different investment vehicle structures
are encouraged. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully,
an individual should have experience with all MS office suite
applications and be skilled in conducting analysis and interpreting
models in Excel, and preparing formal presentations in PowerPoint.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Co-Pilot and/or similar
applications preferred. Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Self-starter with an ability to work both independently and in a
team environment and contribute to department initiatives.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task with competing
demands. Superior communication and presentation skills. Ability to
build relationships with external partners, across internal teams
and work collaboratively. Comfortable working with and presenting
to all levels of management. Benefits and Salary Griffin Capital’s
salary ranges are determined by role, duration of direct
experience, and internal and external pay equity considerations.
The base salary range for this exempt full-time position is
$170,000-$240,000 bonus eligibility benefits.* At Griffin Capital,
