Job Description:

Join a leading oncology care team in California as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient setting. In this vital role, you’ll work closely with pharmacists, clinicians, and IV teams to provide safe, timely, and accurate pharmaceutical care to oncology patients. You’ll play a critical role in sterile compounding, IV admixture preparation (including chemotherapy and biologics), and inventory management. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, compound, package, label, and dispense IV admixtures, chemotherapy, hazardous medications, and nutritional products in accordance with USP standards, state/federal regulations, and internal policies. Perform sterile compounding within Category 1 clean rooms and segregated compounding areas. Operate within biological safety cabinets and closed system transfer devices. Maintain pharmacy inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock, and ensure proper documentation for controlled substances. Adhere to aseptic techniques, safety, and infection control procedures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams and pharmacy staff. Utilize medication dispensing systems such as McKesson, Omnicell, and Pyxis. Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent full-time experience in an IV room at an infusion center and/or hospital inpatient setting. Sterile compounding IV medication experience required . Epic EMR experience preferred. Certifications (Required at Submission): State Pharmacy Technician License IV Certification Chemo/Hazardous Drug Certification Preferred Skills: Prepare Chemo Aseptic Technique Hazardous IV Drug Handling Automation Use (McKesson, Omnicell, Pyxis) National Drug Code (NDC) handling Work Environment: Patient Diagnoses: Primarily oncology/cancer diagnosis. Special Procedures: Handling hazardous IV drugs, sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation. Daily Census: 35-100 Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Pharmacy
