Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Los Angeles, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,409 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Los Angeles, California, 90015! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EKG basic dysrhythmia course - Pharmacology - TNCC Description: Unit focused on critically ill patients with a capacity of 32 private rooms. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Candidates should have 2 years of ICU experience and at least 1 year of travel experience. Preferred skills include EKG basic dysrhythmia, pharmacology knowledge, and TNCC certification. Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:2, with 1:1 for high acuity cases. Electronic Medical Records system used is Cerner. Charge nurses do not take a patient load and act as shift managers. There are no nurse aides on this unit. Requirement includes every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year. Scrub color is navy blue. Telemetry and monitor technicians utilize Nihon Kohden monitors at the bedside. Nurses must read and interpret their own strips. Management of critical drips, such as Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, TPA, and other imperative medications is expected. Ventilator management is a key aspect of care. Hospitalist or intensivist is present 24/7 within the unit. Rapid response and pharmacy teams are also available 24/7. Nurses work 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Traveling nurses coordinate schedules with their respective shift managers. Self-scheduling is acceptable for new schedules, but existing schedules may require re-adjusting. Nurses may be required to float to telemetry or rare holds in the emergency room. Orientation includes 2 days on the floor if experience with Cerner is present. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, gunshot wounds, severe head trauma, cardiac surgeries, and other critical conditions. Preferred experience includes sheath pulling and familiarity with bedside report. The unit seeks self-confident nurses. Nurses should be familiar with various patient care bundles related to stroke, cardiac care, and ventilator management. Cancellations of up to 4 shifts may occur within the 13-week assignment.
