Job Description:
Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United
States on a full-time basis. Lead the strategy, design,
implementation, ongoing program management, policies and
procedures, selection and management of related systems, and
governance committees for HR Compliance and Risk Management,
Employee Relations, and Safety/Crisis Management practices. Ensure
the proper tracking, implementation, and training of employment
laws, regulations, and industry practices. Oversee the regular
review, update, and management of HR policies and key risk
register, and establish framework to monitor and test controls put
in place to ensure HR compliance, minimize risk, and ensure the
timely response to audit requests. Work collaboratively with HR,
Legal, Risk and Compliance, and Audit teams and provide coaching
and consulting as needed. Responsible for HR Compliance and Risk
Management reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES HR Compliance and Risk
Management, Employee Relations (ER), and Safety/Crisis Management
Frameworks and Governance: Lead the strategy, design,
implementation, ongoing program management, policies and
procedures, selection and management of related systems (e.g.,
Navex Ethicspoint complaint/incidence management), and governance
committees for the 1 HR Compliance and Risk Management, 2) Employee
Relations (complaint/investigation management, open-door strategy
and campaigns, discrimination/harassment prevention, performance
improvement), and 3) Safety/Crisis Management (e.g., business
continuity planning, workplace safety and violence management, OSHA
compliance) practices to ensure compliance with federal/national,
state, and local regulations and a positive workplace culture with
productive employee relations. Legal and Regulatory Change
Management: Ensure the proper tracking, implementation, and
training of employment laws, regulations, and industry practices
impacting HR policies, practices, procedures, and programs in a law
repository to proactively ensure compliance and minimize risks and
ER issues. Manage any HR compliance/risk related vendors including
applicable contract management, in partnership with the Legal
department. HR Policy, Risk, Audit, and Case Management: Oversee
the regular review, update, and management of HR policies and HR’s
key risk register, working in partnership with Legal, Risk and
Compliance, and HR department team members. Conduct an annual risk
assessment and create/update/monitor Key Risk Indicators to
identify and manage potential risks. Establish framework to monitor
and test controls put in place to ensure HR compliance and minimize
risk. Ensure the timely response to requests related to internal
and external audits including those from Issuers and Regulatory
bodies. Conduct ER-related case reviews and provide improvement
suggestions. Handle sensitive or complex ER cases, working with
internal and external Legal counsel as needed. Coaching,
Consulting, and Training: Provides leadership and guidance to the
HR team on best practices and changes to internal practices to
ensure compliance and minimize risk. Coach and provide thought
partnership to HRBP members in the areas of conducting internal
investigations, performance improvement/management, safety/crisis
management, and employment laws. Oversee the development of
required toolkits and training for HR team, leaders, and employees
including the annual review of employee onboarding documents. As
needed, consult or coach leaders and employees on HR compliance,
risk management, ER, or safety/crisis matters. HR Compliance and
Risk Management Reporting: Analyze trends, provide benchmarking
data, research, and facilitate sharing of best practices
internally, and track and share monthly and quarterly reports
including Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting. Management of Direct
Reports Perform other duties, as assigned TRAVEL REQUIRMENTS:
Domestic Travel: 5% International Travel: No Travel Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelors FIELD OF STUDY: Human
Resources, Law (JD) or related field EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 8 years
of Human Resources, employment law, compliance and risk management
or other relevant experience. CERTIFICATION(S): HR Certifications
such as SHRM-SCP, HRCI GPHR/SPHR or willing to complete within 6
months of tenure. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER
ATTRIBUTES: Possess strong communication, advocacy, and negotiation
skills across all levels of organization. Has a strong working
knowledge of multi-state best practices as it relates to payroll,
benefits, wage and hour, etc. Demonstrated ability to drive
strategic outcomes and advice on worker-related issues across all
levels of the organization with minimal supervision Strong personal
ethical integrity and respect for confidentiality Experience
building compliance and risk management frameworks, establishing
and leading governance committees, and employee relations best
practices. Experience identifying critical issues and priorities;
providing appropriate discretion and direction to resolve Skilled
in MS Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint). Proven ability to track,
analyze, and effectively present data to identify trends and
provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior
Leadership. Solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative
to the business. Exhibits empathy and emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Masters or Advanced FIELD OF
STUDY: Same as min requirements EXPERIENCE : 10 years of Human
Resources, employment law, compliance and risk management or other
relevant experience. CERTIFICATION(S): JD and State Bar membership
in one or more states. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER
ATTRIBUTES: Previous leadership experience leading a small team of
HR professionals Expert knowledge of multi-state US employment law.
Significant experience navigating complex employment law issues &
partnering to bring cases to closure with Legal and HR LI-KL1
Starting Compensation Annual Salary: $143,800.00 - $186,800.00
