Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University
reasonably expects to pay for this position is $116,000 to
$170,100/year. Salary offers are determined based on final
candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the
position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent
pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this
position is $116,000 to $224,200/year.

The Assistant Dean for Science Facilities & Capital Planning for
the Division of Mathematical, Life, & Physical Science (MLPS), in
the College of Letters & Science, is responsible for the oversight
of the MLPS's responsibilities regarding multiple, concurrent MLPS
divisional space and capital projects. The Assistant Dean closely
collaborates with campus Design & Construction Services, from
design through the construction phase of MLPS capital projects. In
addition, the Assistant Dean, consults with DC&S and advises on
aspects of architectural design and management of major facility
renovations within current space assigned to and managed by MLPS.
This is inclusive of research laboratory space, instructional
space, and general office space in MLPS. Develops short and
long-term space plans and coordinates the implementation of these
plans by working closely with the faculty. Works directly with MLPS
departments on their faculty recruitments as it relates to their
research space, renovation scope, and estimated schedule and costs.
Works closely with Design, Facility & Safety Services (DFSS) on
project management and cost estimates. The Assistant Dean is also
responsible for fiscal oversight of building and renovation
projects, as well is updating divisional space database. The
Assistant Dean is knowledgeable of State code pertaining to fire
and safety requirements; has experience in research laboratory
design and requirements and in the use of AutoCAD or similar
programs. The Assistant Dean is the MLPS's representative and
liaison with the campus' Environmental Health & Safety Office.
Addresses prevention, policy, and procedures issues at the College
level in this area. Acts as Assistant Dean in all aspects of space
and facilities functions in the Division of Mathematical, Life, and
Physical Sciences of the College of Letters and Science. Manages
multiple, concurrent divisional space projects from planning
through implementation. In collaboration with DC&S oversees
project planning, management, and fiscal oversight of capital
projects in MLPS. Designs, implements, and updates divisional space
database.
