position provides specialized on-site services to our clients.
Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging, spill response,
labeling, loading/unloading, coordinating transportation, and
sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal
environmental, health, and safety regulations. Primary Duties
/Responsibilities: Sample waste streams according to prescribed
policies and procedures. Collecting, bulking, packaging and
managing hazardous wastes. Ability to wear a respirator. Maintain a
professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting
solutions to existing/potential problems. Comply and enforce all
compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with
VES-TS policies. Become familiar with all U. S. Department of
Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
VES-TS regulations required in submitting paper work to expedite
disposal of hazardous waste. Collection of all chemical, biological
or radioactive waste at each laboratory in a timely manner that has
been generated from operations at your facility. Safe
transportation of waste from satellite accumulation areas to the
Central Accumulation Area. Bulk Consolidate waste utilizing the
appropriate level of PPE, in accordance with VES safe Bulk
consolidating procedures, in order to create cost minimization
opportunities from satellites. Distribute adequate materials and
supplies to ensure uninterrupted site productivity. Reports
hazardous spills to the safety officer in accordance with state
regulations. Performs or assists with clean up after major spills
of biohazards or chemical materials, during standard shift hours.
Responds to emergencies as needed either day or night, response
provided per ER national agreement Foster Internal customer
relationships - To drive overall site compliance and cost savings
opportunities Ensure a timely and complete response to all service
requests. Maintain supplies for all on site Veolia technician's
equipment and PPE necessary for uninterrupted waste handling and
processing. Management of Universal Waste packaging, pickup points
and disposal. Properly package and label all Veolia managed waste
streams for satellite storage areas. Properly package and label all
Veolia managed waste streams for the Central Accumulation Area.
Prepare appropriate shipping manifests, coordinate and schedule
off-site shipment of Veolia managed waste for disposal, in
accordance to local, state and federal requirements. Operate and
maintain all equipment in a professional manner to ensure optimum
efficiency and effectiveness. Other duties as assigned Work
Environment: Qualifications Education / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
required. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science
discipline preferred but not required. Knowledge / Skills /
Abilities: Strong team player Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills Time management: the ability to organize and
manage multiple deadlines Strong customer service orientation
Ability to follow through on assignments. Required Certification /
Licenses / Training: 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification w/ current 8 hr
cert preferred. Valid Drivers License Additional Information
Targeted Hourly Pay Range: Minimum of $21 to a maximum of $23
